Our clients are a couple with two grown daughters and a small flock of grandchildren who visit frequently. Longterm residents of North Vancouver, they opted to downsize on their own property rather than moving when they felt like the house was more than they wanted to look after. The prefab structure was cut and prepared offsite, saving construction time and resources. Inside, the prefab continued with IKEA cabinetry, enhanced with built-in details to make the spaces really shine. Doors and windows are high efficiency Innotech tile/ turn, which let breezes and sun flood the space in summer while maintaining interior comfort. Heat and cooling are provided by a heat pump and HRV, and a tankless water heater in the crawlspace completes the green infrastructure picture. Now the kids live in the main house, Grandma and Grandpa have their privacy, and everyone has a wonderful place to visit.”
